Where To Install Mount And Blade Warband Mods

Mount & Blade: Warband review In the game Mount & Blade Warband Free Download, the hero can become the owner of land and real estate. He has the opportunity to get married. The bride should be chosen with the expectation of maintaining friendly relations with the neighboring kingdom: everything as in real life in ancient times.

We waited nearly a decade for a follow-up to Warband. Finally, on March 30, 2020, Bannerlord became available in Early Access. Most fans of Mount & Blade seem to be pleased, though it's hard not to ask the question: why ten years? Indeed, some of the announced novelties are missing, and others are not working properly. The authors promised that the missing features will be gradually introduced – let's hope they keep their word.

There is something we don't have to wait for, and that's mods. Days after the Steam release, the game already has a number of improvements, fixes and some new features. What's more, some modders started working even before the game appeared in the Early Access – creating unit trees or models of new items. It's of course still early to judge, but it seems that Bannerlord will be as heavy on mods as Warband. Here's a list of the best modifications for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord – note that we're listing both mods that are already available, as well as those that are still coming.

HOW TO INSTALL MODS TO BANNERLORD?

The mods can be installed exactly the same way as in previous Mount & Blade installments. The contents of the downloaded files should be placed in the Modules folder. Where to find it? Open the directory with Steam installed, then go to 'steamappscommonMount & Blade II Bannerlord.' Now just activate the mod in the game launcher and you're all set. There will be a few exceptions to this general rule, but each modification we described also comes with installation instructions.

ATTENTION

Be aware that by installing mods, you can damage the game. For safety, make sure you back up your saves. You will find them in 'C:Users[user name]DocumentsMount and Blade II BannerlordGame Saves.'

Secondly – this list doesn't include fixes. These quickly become obsolete as the developers continue to improve their game on the daily basis. For the exact same reason, installed mods may stop working after installing a patch – if that happens, you have to wait for the author of the mod to bring it up to date.

NPC Revamp – better faces

Bannerlord delivers some truly unsettling face textures. The NPC Revamp improves this important element. You won't see a revolution, as this mod utilizes the in-game character wizard to revamp the models, but a few characters will be noticeably less unsettling. No more bizarre face proportions.

  1. Download NPC revamp.
  2. Unpack the downloaded archive to the Modules folder located in the game's main directory.
  3. Activate the mod in the launcher.
  4. In order for the mod to work, you need to start a new game.

Fast Dialogue – fewer charging screens

Fast Dialogue can be considered by many players to be the current best mod for Bannerlord. This simple change spares us watching hundreds of loading screens. With this mod, interaction with a group of bandits or a lord doesn't started with the dialogue – instead, we see the familiar menu where, in addition to the possibility of attack, there is also a conversation choice. This is particularly useful when we're hunting down bandits – we usually just want to attack right away.

MORE BANDITS

Since we're talking about outlaws, it is also worth mentioning the mod called More Bandits. It's rather self-explanatory – since you don't have to talk to them, you can kill them quicker, so why not have more of them to kill? Makes sense, doesn't it?
