It wouldn’t be a Sims game without the typical list of cheat codes that do things from giving you money, to allowing you to edit objects, and even edit the sims themselves. To access the cheat codes in The Sims 4, hit Ctrl+Shift+C (or Cmd+Shift+C on a Mac) on your keyboard to bring up the cheat console. Once at the console, you have a list of.

Using cheat codes in the The Simshas been a staple of the gaming world just about as long as the franchise itself has existed. (Does anyone else have fond memories typing 'rosebud;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!;!' over and over in the original Sims?) Thankfully, things haven't changed in Sims 4, and cheats are still as common as ever.

As such, we decided to round up some of the best cheat codes you can use in the series' most recent iteration, Sims 4. Enjoy, you filthy cheaters!

Sims 4 Cheats: How to get started

Before you start typing in cheat codes, you have to call up a cheat bar that will let you type in all sorts of commands. On PC and Mac, hold ctrl + shift + c. You'll see a little white bar pop up on the top of the screen, according to IGN.

The first code you should type is 'testingcheats on,' then hit 'enter.' This will enable you to use several other cheat codes. If you want to disable this, just type 'testingcheats off.'

Sims 4 Cheats: Quick shortcuts

Once you've enabled cheats, there are several different shortcuts you can use that will help you modify a Sim's needs on the fly. For example, holding shift and clicking various objects will bring up useful sub-menus, according to Carl's Sims 4 Guide.

Holding shift and clicking a home's mailbox will allow you to address an entire family's needs — needing to pee, sleep, etc. You can also disable 'need decay,' which will prevent them from having those needs in the future, too.

If you'd rather alter a Sim's needs individually, you can hold shift and click on individuals.

If you don't want to wait for a Sim to walk somewhere in real time, you can simply hold shift and click a point on the ground to have them teleport there.

Holding shift and clicking objects will allow you to repair them

You can also hold shift and click on an NPC if you want to permanently add them to your household.

Sims 4 Cheats: Useful commands

motherlode — Grants 50,000 Simoleons.

money x — Replace 'x' with any value and you'll automatically have that much money.

sims.remove_all_buffs — Removes all moodlets, both positive and negative.

careers.promote x — Replace 'x' with your Sim's current career, like 'astronaut' or 'secretagent' or 'socialmedia' to promote them. You have to already have started the career path to use this cheat.

bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement — Unlocks items in build mode that you'd normally have to earn/unlock through making progress in various careers.

freerealestate [on/off] — Type 'freerealestate on' to make all real estate in the current neighborhood totally free. Type 'freerealestate off' to disable this.

sims.add_buff buff_mortified — Causes a Sim to die of embarrassment within five hours. (Not sure if you'll ever want to use this one, but I thought it was pretty funny.)

Where to find the Cowplant Berry in The Sims 4

• Fishing
  The fishing spots to find the Cowplant berry are in Oasis Springs Desert Bloom Park’s watering hole and the waters of the Forgotten Grotto (this can take a while). If you have The Sims 4 Get to Work you can easily find them in the waters of Magnolia Promenade.
• Exploring Space
  You can explore the space with a rocket and you have a chance to bring back a Cowplant Berry.
• Digging for treasures
  This berry can be found in every digging spot when you are digging for treasures.
• Cheating
  Read ‘Quickest way to get the Cowplant’ below on how to obtain the Cowplant/Cowplant berry while using cheats.
• Grafting
  Your Sims needs to be level 7 of the Gardening skill so they can graft plants.
  • 1. Plant a Snapdragon and a Strawberry.
  • 2. Take the cuttings of each plant when they are large enough.
  • 3. Use the cutting on the Strawberry plant to create the Dragonfruit plant.
  • 4. Take cuttings of the Snapdragon and Dragonfruit plants and use them on the plant with the cutting of another. This will get you the Cowplant berry.

Quickest way to get the Cowpant

There is a really fast way of getting the Cowplant in The Sims 4 by using cheats. You can just ‘buy’ the Cowplant in the debug mode. The debug mode can be triggered by using the cheat code:

• bb.showhiddenobjects (Input the cheat code ‘testingcheats true’ first and hit enter)

Use the Cheat Console by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C. Input the cheat code testingcheats true first. Input the cheat codes into the text input field that appears at the top of the screen. (Remove the cheat console by pressing ESC)

After using the cheat code type in ‘Cowplant’ and hit the search button where you normally search your objects on the left of your screen. You will find your Cowplant there. If you are going to place the Cowplant it will be in his first stage. It’s possible to own more then one Cowplant on one lot.

How to grow your Cowplant

The Cowplant berry can be planted at any gardening level. It only takes a couple of days for the Cowplant to fully mature and when it does you can feed, play, pet, eat cake, milk and collect a sample from the Cowplant. The Cowplant needs to be fed once every 12 hours, when it is hungry it will lure Sims by teasing them with cake. When you see the cake it means that your Sims need to feed it, when your Sim is trying to eat the cake they will be eaten alive. Half of the time your Sim will be spit back out and get a moodlet in return but there is a chance that your Sim will die and return as a ghost.
